Ora’s Yard

Ora's yard is back in action: After losing Ora, my beloved wife, to whom I was married for 63 years, and after many months in which the yard was closed to visitors, I decided to continue Ora's path and keep welcoming visitors with a big smile and a warm heart. I am delighted to open the yard again and receive small groups and families of between 4 and 20 people. Activities include: a unique guided tour of the orchard, with its 120 fruit trees from 80 exotic fruit varieties, accompanied by the fascinating personal story of our roots and how the settlement in the Negev started, narrated by Reuben Rozenblat. We also sell our liquors, boutique beers and homemade jams. The Site is closed on Saturdays and holidays. The visit by pre-booking only. I would love to host you.

Maoz opposite Gaza

The site is dedicated to the three religious kibbutzim in the area. The ground floor of the museum presents photographs of the story of Kibbutz Sa’ad during the War of Independence. Access to the site is through the entrance road to Kibbutz Kfar Aza. The old security building of Kibbutz Saad was renovated and now serves as an active site with exhibitions and films telling the story of the battle for the area, emphasizing the story of the 3 religious kibbutz settlements in the Negev during the War of Independence. In addition, original telegrams are on view describing events from the war. The exhibition demonstrates the struggle of the warriors who were short of weapons, food and water and had to spend days and nights digging underground. An audio-visual is located on the second floor describing the atmosphere in Israel during the war, the part played by the 27 isolated towns in the South, which had only 1,000 people opposite 150,000 people in the Gaza Strip, the placing of the water pipe and the iniquities of the Palmach. The overlook from the roof uses viewing boards to show the city of Gaza, the Mediterranean sea, the electronic border system, enemy posts, our posts from the days of the War of Independence, the border passage near Nachal Oz, the outskirts of Ashkelon and the neighboring towns.

Shokeda community forest route - red singletrack

This information is a recommendation only. Please ride carefully and responsibly. Some routes are for mixed-use of vehicles and cyclists. Riders must adhere to all traffic rules and pay attention to the signage. Difficulty level: medium-high Route length: 12.5 km Start and end point: Be'eri (circular, one-way, clockwise). Summary of the trip area: The route passes through the distant and blooming corners of the Shokeda Forest. It is marked by wooden posts featuring a small red plaque with a cyclist in the center. Summary of the route:  * From Be'eri: Ride on the dirt road parallel to the entrance road to Be'eri toward Road 232. Cross and enter the road on the right, where you will see the single track signage. Then, 200m on, on the single track, you will reach a fork and take a right, duly marked in red. It has many ups and downs, with natural slides. On the way, you will pass a deep well and an ancient building, with a large dry pool at its heart. (Apparently, we see the remnants of a Saqiyah Well that used a mechanism to pump up water using buckets from the deep well into the pool next to it, allowing for better access to drinking water and agricultural uses.) Blue + Red Single track - 17 km altogether, at medium-high proficiency level. Begins with the blue single track up to the scenic road, where it continues to the red single track and then back to Be'eri. Country-Style Cooking Workshops

Caters to private gourmet meals and events; provides culinary advice; holds cooking classes in a country-style atmosphere and fresh ingredients from my vegetable garden. By appointment. Shabbat - closed. My name is Roded. About 20 years ago, I graduated from Tadmor and proceeded on to nutrition studies. I provided professional culinary advice and actively participated in the establishment of new restaurants and catering businesses. After several years as a chef for hotels and luxury restaurants in Eilat (for example, the Harrods Hotel), I decided to take my passion for cooking and set out on my own. That is how Gato Italiano restaurant was born and has flourished for 9 years. My cooking style is a fusion between gourmet and rustic - a combination of historic dishes and contemporary cuisine trends. It is characterized by fine, fresh raw materials with high nutritional value, some of which even come from my vegetable patch. The workshops are held in Moshav Sharsheret in the South. Other services are available from the Northern Negev to the center of Israel.
